The Fundraising Standards Board (the ‘Board’) did dismiss a number of other issues raised by the same complainant but found that WRVS’s explanation of the costs of the campaign was not clear enough. The charity has since responded to the complainant with further detail about the campaign costs.
WRVS said it was disappointed with the ruling but prided itself on high standards in fundraising and that it had engaged in a long process to try and resolve the issues with the complainant.
The Board has since written to the Institute of Fundraising to recommend an addition to the codes of practice on raffles and lotteries.
