Withers tech guides health tech leader Rensair to US$7m Series A investment round

20 May 2022 | Applicable law: England and Wales

The Withers tech team has advised Rensair, creator of a ground-breaking air purification technology that eliminates viruses and bacteria – including the coronavirus family of pathogens – on a $7m Series A investment led by Hoxton Ventures.

Through portable air purification units, Rensair’s unique use of HEPA filtration and UVC light provides 99.97% effectiveness in destroying viruses and bacteria. The units are used in hospitals, care homes, offices and schools across the UK and Europe.

Withers tech has simultaneously advised Rensair on the acquisition of air filtration technologies from AirLabs, a Danish and UK business that also specialises in air purification solutions, including the compact and portable AirBubbl product. The acquisition and Series A investment projects involved working across the UK, Denmark, US, China, South Korea and Mexico.

Ben Williams, partner in Withers tech, comments: “Rensair delivers protection and reassurance against airborne viruses at precisely the time when we need it most. We have been proud to help the business grow across Europe and into the US and truly believe them to have global potential. This significant investment round will super-charge their continuing expansion around the world.

Withers tech is the technology, life sciences and venture capital focused team at international law firm Withers. The Withers tech team was led by Ben, working alongside partners Sarah Melaney and Sharon Whitehouse, associates Ali Woodcock-West and Charlotte Berendt and trainee Kate Heywood.
