Meet our lawyers

Our lawyers talk about what it’s like to work at the firm.

Ayshat Gaydarova

Withers is unique and forward thinking when it comes to people development. I came to the firm over six years ago from a very different professional and cultural background and have had the most exciting path within the global wealth planning group.

As my career has progressed from a junior to senior lawyer my skills have been integrated and developed through a mix of continuous support, attendance at structured global learning programs and through tailored training courses when needed, (such as public speaking and finance).

I have been surprised and impressed by the depth and breadth of development opportunities on offer here.

Joining Withers has meant that I have advised on cutting-edge matters for stimulating clients, often exposing me to other teams and other offices through cross-team and multijurisdictional aspects.

Withers is an inclusive place to work at, meriting its ranking as one of the best legal employers.

Withers is unlike any other firm in its breadth of knowledge and talent both on a domestic and global level. Even more, I feel the firm is deeply committed to creating a collegial environment where associates and partners alike can feel comfortable seeking guidance where needed.

It has been incredibly exciting for my development as an associate in the Private Client and Tax group to be able to work with partners and clients who deal with complex and unique estate planning and tax issues on a daily basis all the while feeling supported as I grow my practice.

I feel the firm is deeply committed to creating a collegial environment.

I’ve had great training here. In particular, Withers’ career development centers are unique in that associates of the same peer group from all offices join together (usually in a offsite venue) for training.

You get to know colleagues from all over the world and from different departments and areas of law, which really helps develop friendships across the firm.

The skills training sessions are mostly done in small groups under a friendly, non-competitive and open atmosphere, so you feel comfortable learning and practising without pressure to perform. Most of what I have learnt could actually be put into practice not just at work but in my personal life too.

I really do appreciate Withers spending the time, effort and costs in developing me, year after year.
