Adele Pledger

Partner | London

Adele is a partner in the divorce and family team.

Adele deals with all aspects of family law, including divorce and financial remedies, pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and separation, occupation and non-molestation orders, child contact and living arrangements, and other private children law issues.

Adele has particular expertise in dealing with complex, often high net worth and with an international dimension, financial division upon divorce.

Adele is known for giving clear, strategic and pragmatic advice, to achieve the best outcome for her client, as quickly and painlessly as possible. She tends to settle the majority of her cases out of Court, but if necessary she has no fear in fighting her client’s corner in litigation and achieving the desired result that way.

In Legal 500 2022, Adele was described as follows: ‘Adele Pledger is a Diana Parker in waiting. Adored by clients, especially those with the most complex financial affairs and commercial backgrounds, she is a creative lawyer and a match for anyone doing the work. Her down to earth manner makes her approachable, inspires confidence and she spots points few others do.’

Adele started being recognised in the market for her expertise at just 4 years qualified when she was named as one of the Rising Stars of Family Law in 2015 by Spear’s Magazine. More recently, Adele won the 2021 Spear’s Wealth Management Award for Future Leader in Private Client Services, and she was ranked as Recommended in Spears 500 2022, Next Generation Partner in Legal 500 2022, and one of Citywealth’s Future Top 100 Leaders for 2019.

I was told that Adele was a rising star and so she proved to be. Adele was knowledgable, efficient and approachable always giving sound advice and instilling confidence. She was a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend her.

Chartered Accountant

Adele… you crushed this. …. Bright, bright, bright with numbers, the law – and like Diana – great with people. Deeply impressive. If things do not work out at Withers you might consider a job in PE.

CEO of private equity firm

Adele helped me reach an amicable financial settlement with my wife. She listened to how I wanted to approach matters, and advised and guided me smoothly through the process, protecting my interests but without causing hiccups. She was a pleasure to deal with and I really appreciated her support and advice through the process. I would definitely recommend her to others.

CEO of global company

Adele comprehensively and promptly put together my complex financial disclosure, and within a matter of weeks I was able to reach an overall agreement with my wife during an all-day lawyer led mediation, with the help of strategic advice and eye for detail. I can highly recommend her for providing creative ideas, achieving results, and also being pleasant people to work with.

CEO of investment management firm

Julian and Adele have been such an enormous help during my divorce. Full of emotions, I entered a minefield of unknown legal territory and potential pitfalls and they have been so helpful in making the unknown and difficult situation easier to understand. Ever since our first meeting, they have always been professional, courteous and understanding. A dream team!

Female client from West London

I find them [Julian Lipson and Adele Pledger] to be practical and empathetic, clear as to the law but equally capable of listening and taking clear instructions. It is hard to describe working with lawyers over such matters as a pleasure, but certainly they have been a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them both.

Founder, Venture Capital firm

Adele was professional and responsive throughout [with regard to a prenuptial agreement]. She made sure I fully understood the law and the process, despite my being unfamiliar with family law, and gave clear and helpful advice.

Jonathan Scott

Adele helped me work step by step through this difficult process in a sympathetic, structured way. Nothing can make these things easy, but without Withers and Diana’s and Adele’s expertise in calmly negotiating each obstacle and complication as it came up, my emotional state at the time and my situation now would certainly have been much worse.

Lady N.

Adele is a ball of energy, hugely talented and one of the most detail oriented professionals I have ever come across, with a keen mind for figures and complicated financial issues. Insightful, high calibre thinking makes this team’s approach to negotiations bold and creative! Julian and Adele are both sincere and genuine no nonsense solicitors, particularly humane, sharp witted, distinguished and honourable.

Mother of three, West London

I knew I needed someone I could totally rely on; a very solid solicitor able to deal with both the international elements of the case and the complexity generated by my professional and financial situation. Withers and Adele Pledger within Withers have been recommended to me by good friends of mine, respectively as a highly regarded law firm, and a sharp lawyer, specialised in complex family law matters…Adele and her colleague Oliver Guest provided an absolutely outstanding quality of service…Very importantly, they revealed as well showing strong human qualities, really caring, always making efforts of pedagogy to help me understand, and answering all my questions in a timely manner. Adele and Ollie provided a permanent support, creating rapidly a real relation of trust… I benefited from a state of the art quality of service. I would definitively strongly recommend Withers as a firm and Adele Pledger as both a very high profile professional and as a person.
