The American Lawyer released its inaugural Trailblazers West list, and Los Angeles-based partner, Gina Bibby, who is the global head of Withers’ fashion tech practice group, is recognized for her trailblazing practice. The American Lawyer’s Trailblazers West list recognizes a specialized group of individuals who have “moved the needle in the legal industry” and are “agents of change in their respective practice areas.”
“Historically, entrepreneurs and emerging companies were left to consult with lawyers about discrete legal issues, and there were limited specialized legal resources available to these clients. I wanted fashion technology innovators to have another option, and now they do,” Gina says in The American Lawyer’s Trailblazers feature.
Advising fashion tech brands and creatives
"With its global tech practice, nearly 30 years of experience advising fashion brands and creatives, and offices in major technology and fashion centers throughout the world, I am proud to say our fashion technology practice really is one for a changing world," Gina comments. She joined the firm in 2019 to establish and head the fashion tech practice, and now leads a team spanning three continents that helps clients who are transforming the fashion industry.
Gina’s practice focuses on protecting clients’ innovations through commercial agreements, and patent, trademark and copyright procurement and litigation. The global fashion tech law practice includes advising clients on intellectual property, corporate formation, venture capital, corporate transactions, real estate, privacy, e-commerce, and more.
As a woman with a high-tech background, Gina hopes her journey will “inspire young girls to think about STEM and law careers” and the firm’s innovative fashion tech practice will “inspire young lawyers to think differently about the ways they practice.”
