15 December 2022 | Applicable law: England and Wales | 1 minute

The Withers tech team has advised mobility tech company WeWalk on their £2 million Pre-Series A investment round led by Nesta Partners Limited together with KHP Ventures and Turkey-based APY Ventures.

WeWalk is a mobility tech company that aims to enhance the visually impaired community's safety, independence and social inclusion. Through R&D collaborations with Microsoft and Imperial College London and work with leading blind institutions such as the RNIB, CNIB and Vision Australia, they have reinvented the simplicity of the white cane to incorporate cutting-edge technology.

London partner, Sarah Melaney comments: "WeWalk's use of innovative technology has reinvented the traditional use of the white cane – a product that has come to be seen as a symbolic representation of the visually impaired community and is deemed a necessity for many. The company's mission will no doubt hugely improve the day-to-day welfare for users and the Withers tech team is really proud to be involved in this Pre-Series A investment round."

Withers tech is the technology, life sciences and venture capital focused team at international law firm Withers. The Withers tech team was led by Sarah, working alongside associates Charlotte Berendt, Anthony Kydoniefs and trainee Robert McGowan Stuart.
