Margaret is CEO of the firm.
She trained with the firm and now leads the firm and its development internationally.She is passionate about growing the firm's capabilities to ensure that we can best serve our clients globally; and that we continue to attract clients who need exceptional, tailored and multi-jurisdictional advice from leading lawyers across the world. The firm now has over 1000 people across the world, and has advised 51% of the Sunday Times Rich List as well as significant numbers of the Huron list in Asia and Forbes in the US.
She especially enjoys working with the rest of the management team to set the firm's strategy. Recently this led to our entering into our Formal Law Alliance in Singapore to create Withers KhattarWong, and further strengthening our presence in Asia-Pacific through openings in Tokyo and Sydney.
Margaret has been recognised in The Lawyer's 'Hot 100' report for 2016 as one of the leading law firm managers in the sector.

My life at Withers is very different from the picture presented in the 70s tv show Justice but actually it's just as much fun.
I first thought about law as a career, believe it or not, after seeing Margaret Lockwood in a 1970s TV show called Justice. I'd had no exposure to the legal world at all before then.
My life at Withers is very different from the picture presented there but actually it's just as much fun. I first became a fraud litigator, next an employment lawyer and then got involved in management. I can tell some quirky stories about all these phases!
I am known for saying I must have a deplorable lack of imagination because I have been here so long but in fact it's a tribute to the firm that I have been able to have three very different careers here and that things are always growing and changing. We've gone from one office to many, spread across US, Europe and Asia, in a relatively short time; and I've had the privilege of working with our very many unusually talented and inspiring people around the world who come from radically different backgrounds and cultures- just like our clients, so I never get bored!
