Her work includes advising on family wealth planning and protection, matters involving trusts and corporate structures, and applications for injunctive relief arising in a family law context.She also advised on two landmark cases before the Hong Kong High Court, resulting in a big victory for the LGBTQ+ community through the grant of equal parental rights to same-sex partners.

Jocelyn also has experience advising on cross-jurisdictional divorce issues, which require coordination with overseas solicitors and experts, alongside leading counsel in Hong Kong and other countries.Jocelyn is experienced with divorce cases involving disputes on beneficial ownership of assets, asset dissipation, valuation of assets, and the division and preservation of assets.

People often say they have Monday blues, but I never feel that way. I love what I do.
I knew I did not want to focus on any area of law but family law right from the beginning. I started straight off working as a trainee in a firm specialising only in family law before I joined Withers. People often say they have Monday blues, but I never feel that way. I love what I do.
Out of work, I lead a second life as an athlete. I have been training in all sorts of sports for hours every day since I was young as a competitive swimmer, a marathon runner, and a mid-fielder in my hockey teams. What drives me in life is my passion in sports, and the more challenging it is, the more I want to pursue it. I wake up early every morning for CrossFit training, and train Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) every evening after work which includes the disciplines of Brazillian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and Boxing.

AA v. BB 2021 [HKCFI] 1401
A landmark Hong Kong family law ruling, where The High Court granted equal guardianship, joint custody and shared care of children to a non-biological mother in a same-sex relationship, marking a significant legal milestone for LGBTQ+ families in Hong Kong.
BC v MSH (also known as H, MSO and Others) [2023] HKFC 222
This case concerned the treatment of cryptocurrency assets in Hong Kong divorce proceedings, focusing on crypto asset disclosure and disputes over whether losses arising from cryptocurrency investments amounted to reckless dissipation of matrimonial assets.
K (an infant) by his next friend R v the Secretary for Justice and others [2025] HKCFI 1974
A significant High Court decision which found that the exclusion of a non-birth parent in a same-sex couple from legal parental recognition and birth registration was unconstitutional, marking an important development in the recognition of modern families and children's rights. This case was recognized at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific & China Awards 2026 for Impact Case of the Year – Same-Sex Parent Declaration in Hong Kong.
NF v R HCMP447/2022 [2023] HKCFI 2233 (31/08/2023)
This is a landmark ruling for shared motherhood and children parented by same-sex couple, where we secured the High Court's recognition of the non-gestational mother as a parent "at common law" under the Parent and Child Ordinance, Cap 429, advancing legal recognition of same-sex families and parental rights.
Non-gestational mother's parental rights
Representing a non-gestational mother in a landmark contested same-sex parenting dispute, where the gestational mother challenges the recognition of her parental role. The case concerns parentage, custody, care and control, and access rights, raising significant questions regarding legal parentage, genetic links, and the protection of same-sex families in Hong Kong.
V, RHM and V, ES [2019] HKFC 279
One of the few cases where the spouse was able to successfully set aside two Consent Summonses signed on divorce settlement.
HK1.4bn award
Advised a very high profile client when she achieved the largest ever award from a court in Hong Kong, namely HK$1.4 billion. This case involved issues relating to s17 applications as well as consideration as to whether or not shares in a business of considerable valuable should form part of the marital assets. It also considered the impact of corporate documents in the context of divorce following the landmark Supreme Court decision in England of Prest v Petrodel. This matter subsequently went to the Court of Appeal and was reported as TCWF v LKKS (No. 1) [2014] HKFLR 1; [2014] 1 HKLRD 896.
