Withers represents The Venue Group (tvg hospitality) in $50m fund-raising and restructuring

23 February 2022 | Applicable law: US

International law firm Withers has represented The Venue Group (tvg hospitality), led by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons and his brother Greg, a former finance director of Soho House North America, on its first external fundraising round, as well as restructuring work on the business.

The $50m fundraising was led by Gibson Brands, alongside funds managed by Goldman Sachs and LionTree, and also included investments by fellow musicians and music industry executives.

tvg was founded in 2015 and operates a number of live music venues in the UK. The financing will be used to expand the group’s activities across the US. tvg’s unique vision is to create sites that combine live music with other hospitality services to provide customers with a wider social and cultural experience.

Jeremy Wakeham, CEO of Withers’ Business division, comments: “tvg is leading the next generation of entertainment venues and exemplifies what consumers want from an experience like a concert – not just a couple of hours of music, but also ways to come together with friends and take time to eat and drink as well.”

“We are proud to work with Ben, Greg and tvg and are excited to see how tvg grows. As a firm, we work with founders to develop their business, harness private capital and grow their success.”
