Alex is a senior associate in the litigation and arbitration team.
Alex represents a wide variety of clients in international arbitration and litigation matters, including advising on complex commercial transactions. Alex has represented clients at all stages of litigation and arbitration, including discovery and disclosure processes, hearings and trials. He is also extensively involved in pre-litigation, pre-arbitration and settlement stages of disputes.
Alex’s experience includes representing States, businesses, and individuals in international arbitrations and domestic litigation across a range of industries, including natural resources, aviation, energy, banking, oil and gas, packaging and consumer products. Alex has extensive experience in M&A disputes, including pre-closing disputes, specific performance lawsuits, post-closing pricing adjustments and post-closing supply agreement breaches.
Alex assists clients from a variety of regions and countries of the world, and has litigated disputes in US state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations under the auspices of the ICC, ICDR, AAA and JAMS. Alex has participated in arbitrations under New York, Delaware, California, Mexican and Brazilian law. Alex is a native English speaker fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
In his pro bono practice, he has represented clients in obtaining various immigration statuses. In addition, he has represented pro bono clients in domestic litigation in 42 U.S.C. 1983 claims, fraudulent conveyance claims and divorce proceedings.
He has been recognized by Best Lawyers as One to Watch (2024-2026) and by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star (2024). He is the Editorial Co - Director of Young ICCA, one of the co-heads of Young ICCA’s online digital magazine.
