Defending charities' right to share estate

In British Camelids Limited v The Brooke Hospital for Animals and Others [2025], Roger, Paul Hewitt and Rosalind Russell act for Brooke Hospital, World Animal Protection, and Born Free Foundation in response to an attempt to deprive them of their 1/6th shares under the Will of Candia Midworth.  British Camelids Limited argued that, because our client charities had become incorporated in the years following the Will, the original (unincorporated) beneficiary charities were 'no longer in existence'.  The Judge rejected that and upheld our clients' entitlement to share in the estate as Ms Midworth always intended.  Click here to read Master McQuail's judgment and click here to read our update.
