A Singapore-based multi-strategy fund manager

Advising a Singapore-based Asian-focused multi-strategy investment manager on the establishment of its umbrella VCCs and formation of their sub-funds, which invest across a range of asset classes and geographies.

Biomedical venture capital fund

Advised a Singapore licensed biomed venture capital fund manager in the establishment of a VCC fund focusing on venture capital investments in the healthcare sector, particularly in biotechnology and medical technologies in Asia.

Formation of a data center fund

Advised a Singapore-based manager on legal and tax matters in the formation of a JPY42 billion data center fund focused on developing and operating turn-key data centers in Japan.

IndoSpace Capital

Advised IndoSpace on the formation of its fourth fund, IndoSpace Logistics Parks IV, a real estate opportunistic fund managed by IndoSpace Capital, one of India's largest manager of industrial and logistics real estate. ILP IV had a target fund size of US$600 million.

Limited partner representations

Advised limited partner investors, ranging from institutional investors to family offices, on proposed primary fund investments across a range of investment strategies, including private equity and venture capital, secondaries and fund-of-funds, and geographies.

Nuveen Real Estate

Advised Nuveen Real Estate, one of the world’s largest real estate investment managers, on the establishment and initial US$100 million close of its Japan Alternatives Living fund, which will primarily invest in senior housing assets across Greater Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, with participation from institutional real estate investors Bouwinvest and TIAA.

PAG

Advised PAG on both legal and tax matters on its various fund formation mandates, including the establishment of FLOW Digital Infrastructure, a regional platform to capitalize on the rapidly growing demand for digital infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region, PAG REN, its renewable energy fund and PAG SCREP, its opportunistic real estate funds.

A Geneva-headquartered private bank

Advised the Singapore branch of a Geneva-headquartered private bank in the formation of an umbrella VCC to offer bespoke investment strategies to private clients.

Incubate Fund Management

Advised Incubate Fund Management on the structuring and formation of several of its funds targeting venture capital investments across Japan, India and Southeast Asia, including Incubate Fund VI, Incubate Fund Asia 3, Incubate Fund Asia 4, and the SMBC Asia Rising Fund, which is anchored by SMBC with an initial corpus of US$200 million.

Orion Capital Asia

Advising Orion Capital Asia, a Singapore-based private credit investment manager, on the formation of its US$700 million Orion Secured Direct Lending Fund III, a cross-border private credit fund backed by significant institutional investors from North America and Japan.

Altara Ventures

Advised Altara Ventures, a technology venture capital firm investing across Southeast Asia investing in pre-A, Series A and Series B stage companies that build innovation solutions in Fintech, Logistics & Mobility, Consumer, Enterprise Software and Deep Tech, Healthcare and Edtech, in Series A fundraising rounds in two Southeast Asian technology start-ups.

A large private equity fund
