15 February 2024 | Applicable law: England and Wales | 1 minute

International law firm Withers has advised Farmer J, a health-focussed, 'farm-to-fork' restaurant chain on a £5.5m funding round.

The funding round was led by venture capital fund Beringea and will be used to target expansion into the US.

Susanna Stanfield, Withers tech partner and Head of the Cambridge office, comments: “This funding is an exciting opportunity for Farmer J to, not only expand their presence in London, but to penetrate the US market too. This funding round also demonstrates the market's confidence in this fast growth business.”

Farmer J was founded in 2014 by Jonathan Recanati with a mission to create sustainable, healthy food products, including full dishes. Last year Farmer J secured investment from Edition Capital, as well as from Imbiba back in 2019.

Susanna adds: "It was great to work with Farmer J on this project and we were thrilled to play a role in this exciting funding round. We congratulate them on this great success and look forward to being part of their exciting growth journey."
