Ali is a trainee in the Withers tech IP team.

Ali is a trainee in the Withers Tech IP team, currently sitting with Richard Penfold in the London office and is involved in matters across the full range of the group’s practice. Ali assists with both contentious and non-contentious matters, including IP infringement disputes and trade mark oppositions to advising on GDPR compliance and commercial agreements, as well as management of clients’ international trade mark portfolios.

In her previous seats, Ali sat with Julie Teal and Andrew Chesser in the Construction and Real Estate Disputes teams; Paul McGrath and Agnes Macduff in Corporate; and Alex Thompson in Employment. Prior to commencing her training contract, Ali worked as a paralegal with the firm’s IP team and assisted with all aspects of IP protection and enforcement. She managed and coordinated a number of trade mark portfolios, both in the UK and internationally. She worked for a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from luxury brands and hotels, to financial services and technology, as well as charities and entrepreneurs. Ali has also assisted with transactional matters and IP-related agreements and has experience in contentious issues, having assisted with cases in both the High Court and Court of Appeal.
