You are invited to join us in Singapore or Hong Kong for our upcoming trust disputes seminar, where we explore the tensions that may arise when a patriarch passes, and complex family trust structures come under real pressure. This seminar is an exciting sequel and builds on the themes from our previous event. However it is a fully standalone session; prior attendance in October is not required!

Following a fictional family case study scenario, we will examine how disagreements within complex family and wealth structures can rapidly evolve into high-stakes issues involving control, governance, and succession.

Our panel will consider various scenarios, including:

  • Whether there are limits to anti-Bartlett protection for trustees
  • Issues to reflect on when deciding whether to restructure a trust
  • How to best protect trustee decisions
  • Keeping the family trust dispute private
  • Handling questions of capacity
  • Strategies for resolution
  • Risks of an accidental US beneficiary

Drawing on recent case law and extensive experience, our panellists will share practical insights on how trust disputes can be considered, and share strategies for resolution before potential damage impacts both enterprise value and family relationships.
