Louise is an associate in the private client and tax team.

Her work is focused on tax, trusts, probate and succession planning for UK and international clients. She advises trustees and family offices, as well as individuals.

She has an interest in cross border issues and she advises European clients on estate planning and international probate matters. She also assists in providing advice on US and UK estate and inheritance tax issues. She advises on pre-immigration planning and efficient structures for holding UK real estate.

She works closely with colleagues from other teams in relation to commercial matters, family law matters and complex tax and trust law litigation.

Louise has a particular interest in art and cultural property issues affecting private clients. She advises on tax and estate planning involving artworks including Conditional Exemption, HMRC’s Acceptance in Lieu scheme and private treaty sales. She has also advised on the tax implications of the gift, sale and purchase of artworks and other objects.

Prior to training as a solicitor, she worked in public relations and for an arts consulting agency where her clients were artists, major international art fairs and commercial art galleries.
